Latest Hot Single Could Cost You $1.29

Apple iTunesThe standard price for a tune from Apple was 99 cents. Beginning on April 7, 2009, some songs will cost you one dollar and twenty nine cents.

The three price ranges will be .69, .99, and $1.29. Some songs will be thirty cents cheaper, while the most popular songs will be $1.29.

The reason for the increases, is that the music industry has been losing revenue on the sales of CD’s.

On the bright side, you will be able to make unlimited copies and play the songs on any device.

This is an experiment, and has brought some criticism from the music industry. Some critics mention that the timing was bad, because of the economy. Others claim that this will be yet another reason for listeners to pirate the songs.

Some analysts are calling this a nightmare. What do you think about it? Will you pay the extra amount?
