Find The Speed Trap Locations

Hate speeding tickets? Hate speed traps? Own a computer or a cell phone? Then here is a five star solution that can be used around the world! This system delivers data in real time. It’s definitely worth the trouble and it’s free. This sharing system is called Trapster.

Speed traps are a part of today’s society. If you’ve ever been behind the wheel of an automobile, from the beginning of the 20th century, you more than likely know what a speed trap is. They’re also called revenue traps. Revenue traps promote revenue, and not safety.

In case you’re not familiar, police often have their favorite hiding spot, or stretch of road, where they are constantly writing tickets. Many times the speed limit signs are in obscure or unlikely areas.

Now they have speed cameras, and also red light cameras that stick you when you run the red light.

Here is a website called Trapster, where users inform each other where the speed traps are, in cities around the world. Oh, and it’s totally free by the way. It works with phones, and also works with Garmin and TomTom GPS units. Here’s Trapster on a YouTube video.

Phones That Work With Trapster:
1.  iPhone
2.  BlackBerry
3.  Nokia N95, N96, N97, 5800, E71, and other Symbian s60 phones
4.  Unlocked J2ME phones with GPS (for example the TMobile Sony Ericsson W370)
5.  Palm Pre and Windows Mobile versions coming soon!

Trapster is legal in most countries. Do the police like it?  Probably not, but that’s their problem. Police chief Cathy Lanier, of Washington, D.C., denounced phone users with devices that pinpont the boogeyman.

All is required is a user name and a password. That’s it, with no strings. Trapster works great on any ordinary computer. Here’s the the demo video.
