You Can Bing What You Tweet

Real time data has detonated through the stratum. Microsoft clearly understands this value, and has made a deal with Twitter. Micro-blogging will now be available on Bing search results, a service launched by Microsoft in June.

Bing stated on their blog, that search engines needed to keep up with real time data, which is provided by Twitter. Public opinion is obviously very important to Web 2.0.

Bing will now have access to the Twitter feed and will have a beta of Bing Twitter search for users in the United States only (for now).

Here’s the Hottest Topics on Twitter, now on Bing Twitter.

I hope you’re not too confused, because there’s also BingTweets, which fuses Twitter Trends with Bing Real Time Search.

This confirms just how beneficial real time is to search. What started as a side project in March of 2006, has now become a social networking utopia. Search engines never anticipated this explosion.
