The New York Giants claim victory over the New England Patriots with a score of 17-14. This was one of the most unpredictable shockers of all time. The New England team had an incredible season and were predicted to win the superbowl. With only seconds left in the game, Eli Manning threw a pass to Plaxico Burress. That play sealed the victory for the New York Giants. They are the XLII SuperBowl champions.

A major contributing factor for the Giants win can be  accredited to their defense. They would not allow Tom Brady to dominate the game. Brady, the quarterback for the Patriots, is regarded as one of the best in the NFL. In the second half of the game, the Giants were starting to wear down. The Patriots did manage to keep the lead in the second half of the game. Just as it appeared to be the end for the Giants, their performance would leave the announcers almost speechless.

Congratulations to coach Tom Coughlin and the New York Giants. Both teams fought until the very end. At the end of the day, the best team one. The 2008 SuperBowl will probably be recorded as one of the most memorable games in history. It was certainly not “just another game”.  ;)
