There are 538 electoral votes, and each presidential candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes to win. After November 4, 2008, the election results will reveal the accuracy of the polls.

Popular Votes:
Obama – 52.3% McCain – 46.2%

Analysis: Obviously John McCain did much better than expected, especially referring to the electoral votes. ElectionProjection.com nailed the popular vote. Nice job. In retrospect, the polls were fairly accurate when representing election data. However, even with a margin of error, there can be surprises.
