The 2012 Transit of Venus

The transit of Venus will begin at 22:09 UTC on June 5, 2012. It will end at 04:49 UTC on June 6. This won’t happen again until December of 2117.

In the United States, visibility will begin on June 5, and will remain until sunset. The transit will be at its best at sunset. To view a city near you, click here. Do not stare at the sun with bare eyes, because it can leave you permanently blinded.
