The GPE 27 5/8 Antenna was purchased in the Spring Of 2022. This aluminum vertical antenna is still going strong and looks very good. I don’t know if this specific antenna is still being marketed, however, I highly recommend this company if their other products are anything like this one. The aluminum is preferred because the fiber coated type corrodes over time, as most hams are already aware of. I would like to note that I did use electrical tape where it was recommended. Four years have passed since the install and I will confess. I do monitor the 11 meter band! The receive on this antenna on the CB band is absolutely amazing… Oh the humanity!

The SWR has been great and this fine antenna hears well, even down on the 40 meter portion. If one wanted to use the automatic tuner, I do not see a problem even down to the 20 meter band. Yes, it’s that versatile.

It’s sad to see this solar cycle is on the decline, but that’s the way it goes. Huh? Happy DXing!

The low radiation angle for the Sirio Antenna Sirio GPE 27 5/8 is excellent for DX. The Sirio GPE 27 5/8 Antenna is designed for the 10m & 11m in frequency range. It’s omnidirectional and tunable by acting on the whip length, plus low radiation angle for excellent DX. The coil is protected by a transparent cover.

The whip is equipped with the waterproof jointing sleeve, also made of aluminum alloy 6063 T-832 offering protection from static discharges.

The ground plane frequency range: tunable from 26.4 to 29.0 MHz. Will do more with a tuner, because a video shows the operator transmitting on a 20m frequency.

Materials are aluminum, steel, copper, and nylon. Made of anti-corodal aluminum tubes and supplied with polythene jointing sleeves to be a perfect waterproofing. Strong and easy to install.

This looks like a solid antenna sold for a reasonable price.
