Goal: Give Good Tweets Which Engages Followers
What tweets do you find interesting? What tweets make people want to follow you? Is there a place for gauging tweet popularity?
Twitter – A Growing Community
Twitter has become a very powerful tool for obvious reasons. It is a perfect way to promote yourself and your objective. It is what it is, no more and no less. In the quest to discover what makes a Tweep popular, we should turn to an expert on the matter.
Guy Kawasaki is one of the most popular Social Media gurus on the web. He is considered an expert by many. Here are 5 things Guy says not to do…
Five Things Not To Tweet About - From Guy Kawasaki
1. Don’t tell other people how to tweet.
2. Don’t tell the world that you unfollowed someone.
3. Don’t ask people why they unfollowed you.
4. Don’t constantly tweet mundane updates and babble.
5. Don’t use a small picture as an avatar.
What tweets or topics is it that you find interesting? Here’s a quick list that I came up with just for fun. Where do you go to get the hottest topics for tweets?
Places to find Topics to Tweet About - Short and Sweet
1. Google Trends – I really think that more and more surfers are turning to Google Trends for news and trends. It’s trendy!
2. TweetMeme – Here is a place to find the hottest links on twitter. This is a hot place to find quick information. But, I think there is a danger of rehashing a lot of the same news by the same popular dot.coms. This could be a problem on down the road.
3. MyBlogLog – I just joined this one recently. I think communities such as this are gaining in popularity.
4. Hot Tweeters – I just ran on to this one. Ever heard of it?
5. Yahoo! News – I think news is a hot topic if the message is fresh and on target.
6. Twitter Search – The trending topics of course!
