CES International
The International CES is the world’s largest Consumer Electronic Trade Show, representing over 140 countries around the globe. Registrants range from the media, to engineers, and a wide host of others. The show was held Jan. 8 – Jan. 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
NBC Universal
NBC Universal was the official broadcast partner of the show in 2008, and also this year in 2009. Broadcasts were covered by the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Access Hollywood, and CNBC.

Key speakers included: CEO of Microsoft Steve Ballmer, CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro, Sony Chairman and CEO Sir Howard Stringer, Ford Motor Company President and CEO Alan Mulally, Intel Chairman Craig Barrett, Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers, and FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, among others.

The Consumer Electronics Industry is predicted to generate $171 billion in U.S. shipment revenues in 2009, according to the Consumer Electronic Association (CEA). More Forecast News …
Hot Consumer Electronics
The primary revenue will continue to be digital televisions, representing 15% of sales. The LCD TV is the top choice among consumers, with sales of 77% of DTV’s.
Other top selling items will include: Blu Ray Players, gaming and gaming software, smartphones, home audio systems.
2009 Consumer Electronics Sales Predictions
Even during a tough economic year in 2008, there was sales growth in the Consumer Electronics Industry. Sales of Consumer Electronics in 2009 is expected to be somewhat slower.
