America Has Finally Awoken
Although the mood in the United States is somber and full of cynicism, there could be reason for some optimism. Why?
Thousands are now marching in the streets, protesting against the excess greed and arrogance behind the AIG bonus funds. This is probably not the change that Obama had hoped for.
The practice of corporate bailouts has been in existence for years. It has been kept hidden behind closed doors in secrecy with the government knowing what was happening. Corporate bankruptcy actually gets rewarded by government!
Americans are no longer remaining silent. There is growing momentum against the drainage.
And now, as covered by the HuffingtonPost, even more has been discovered. Some of the AIG bailout money is actually being channeled to bailout European banks! Where is the mainstream media?
Just how transparent is this new administration claiming to be? Just what else is being hidden? How many other companies are milking the system?
It is definitely ashame that the economy has to sink to a historic level of proportion in order to recognize how the culture of greed has crippled the United States.
Does this resemble La Grève Générale ? Or perhaps the French Revolution? Who will play the role of Maximilien Robespierre? Barney Frank?
