iTunes May Find Competition In The U.K.

Sky (BSY) has announced that it will launch a new digital music service on October 19, and will be available to anyone in the UK with broadband. The service will be called Sky Songs.

Sky is offering two packages. One is £6.49 ($10.27), and the second is £7.99 ($12.64). Over four million tracks will be accessible to download.

Sky will offer new releases and back catalogues from every major music label as well as a wide range of independent labels and distributors.
