Is America On The Brink Of Economic Collapse?

The first alarming bookmark involves the collapse of the steel market in the United States. Many people tend to forget the critical role that steel once played in America. China dominates the steel industry at present.

It was steel that helped to win World War II. It was steel that made Detroit a world class center of trade. Detroit is that no more.

What did we see in the 1960 era? A major decline in steel manufacturing. Now we are seeing a collapse in the steel industry.

And as the media and economists scorn any ideas that remotely resemble so called protectionist measures, America is the only country in the world with record breaking trade deficit increases.  This can no longer be ignored.

The debate shouldn’t be about free trade and protectionism, it should be about something that politicians forgot how to do — balance trade, and balance the checkbook…

The arguing, the bickering, partisan politics, the political correctness, have all contributed to a trainwreck economy that forewarns us of a ticking time bomb that is ready to explode.

The financial bailout program cannot be sustainable. A bankrupt country cannot keep borrowing money to pay for a greedy and incompetent banking system. The bailout of the week club  has got to cease.

It’s not that the government is doing nothing at all, it boils down to the fact that we as a nation have been ignoring the hardcore issues that got us in the economic mess in the first place.

Such as: deindustrialization, outsourcing, imbalance of trade, unbalanced concentration of wealth, selling out critical technology, corrupt business practices, greed, broken tax system, corrupt lending practices, lack of regulation, overspending, etc.

The mishandling of business in America has led us to this road that we’re on. And several writers are predicting that America will collapse –it’s just a matter of time.

Why does this have to happen? Because the wealthy take care of the wealthy. The middle class will erode to nothing. Therefore, the buying power will erode with the middle class, since they are the primary consumers.

A new economy must quickly be kick-started. A leaner nation needs to be created; a nation that takes care of the people’s needs. The United States needs to focus more on the United States; the focus should be about economics, and not merely playing politics.
