Google’s Approach to Social Networking

Google is out with yet another interesting development, known as Google Wave. Google Wave is going to be a social networking tool combined with email, instant messaging, multimedia, blogging, and many more of their well-liked applications.

Wave isn’t open to the public just yet, except for the lucky people that Google has invited to test it out. If you are one of the few that has been invited, you’ll know what Wave has to offer.

Google Wave’s layout gives members a functional email-look. Messages are called waves, in similarity to tweets on Twitter. A wave enables a user to embed images, links, video, or whatever you wish to include. And sending out your wave is simple and easy to do; just search for one of your contacts or drag and drop them to your wave. You can also do more than just send waves, you can also reply. And like Gmail, Google’s effective approach to email, you can tag waves, delete waves, upload files, and etc. The functions of Wave go on continuous.

Previously said, you can’t actually access Google Wave just yet, unless you were invited. But if you want to see a preview of it, surf on over to the official Google Wave page. And if you’re desperate to get in, you can request an invite, and hope that Google lets you have a go at it.
