Obama’s New Law Makes Free Speech Illegal
The Anti-Protest bill that was signed on Thursday, March 8, 2012, by President Barack Obama, makes it a federal offense to protest near government buildings and grounds, as well as any location where any politician or foreign dignitary protected by the Secret Service is visiting, or at any “special event of national significance.”
H.R. 347 is the bill that gives federal agents the authority to conveniently arrest and bring felony charges to protesters under certain conditions, especially when the secret service is present.
This means that if you are protesting and the government even suspects that you are near secret service officials, you will be committing a felony. This literally takes part of the free speech out of the first amendment. The United States government will now be issuing NO FREE SPEECH ZONES. Imagine what Benjamin Franklin would say if he were alive today?
Judge Andrew Napolitano, a Fox News Senior Judicial Analyst, reports that the H.R. 347 bill was passed overwhelmingly by both parties. This will allow the secret service to determine what is a no free speech zone. Also, he makes another valid point here: secret service protection can be given to anybody in government, which provides them with the advantage.
