Alabama Man Lying On Tracks Survives

Arnold Romine was lying across the railroad ties when the train engineer saw him. Before the train was able to stop, eight rail cars ran over Romine. This occurred Thursday, November 13, 2008, in northern Alabama.

The conductor did sound the horn and tried to avoid the accident. The coal train was stopped as soon as possible.

Romine was taken to a hospital in Huntsville and released. He supposedly suffered only minor injuries.

Romine, a 61 year old man, is very fortunate to have survived. The outcome of this type of accident is oftentimes much grimmer.
