SIMA Celebrates 73rd Edition In 2009

SIMA   is an international agricultural exhibition that takes place in Paris, France. This show was created in 1922.

The 2009 show will be held at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Park from Sunday 22 to Thursday 26 February. The show represents breeders, crops, farming equipment, and renewable energy.

New Holland will debut the NH2, the world’s first hydrogen fuel cell powered tractor. This project will attempt to free farmers from using fossil fuels altogether.

Here is what is known. Hydrogen will be converted into electric. Electric will be stored in three lithium ion batteries. Water is the only emission, leaving behind only a vapor trail. The tractor will operate silently…

This may be the beginning step of gaining independence from oil. Farmers could benefit tremendously from this technology if it advances. Is Hydrogen Technology going to be cost-efficient? What about hydrogen vehicles ?
