Blackberry In Washington

Cell Phone Deals

When President Barack Obama answers that 3 A.M.  phone call, he may not be able to take it on his Blackberry smartphone. If the National Security Agency officials  get their way, they will ban the president from using his Blackberry in the White House, fearing that it might pose a threat to national security.

It’s no secret that Obama has been fond of his Blackberry. It was one of his key resources during his presidential campaign. Obama used it to keep in touch with friends and family while on the road, accessing the email function.

“They’re going to pry it out of my hands”, Obama exclaimed during a recent interview, when asked about the Blackberry.

The Sectera Edge, a Windows Mobile PDA phone, has been approved by the NSA, and could possibly be the replacement for the Blackberry.

Being a technology friendly president, Obama clearly understands the importance of conversing with the public. He doesn’t want to lose access with public opinion, a strong point during his successful campaign.

President Obama is said to be the first president to have a laptop on his desk. Even though the Chief Executive’s job requires tremendous security, it is highly unlikely that Obama will be separated from technology that enables him to stay connected with humanity.
